These Terms of Service govern your use of Dating Scam Detector, available at datingscamdetector.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. The Site also includes It's Not U, It's Me, a companion breakup-line generator and relationship-advice resource, covered by these same terms.

What the Site is

Dating Scam Detector provides a free, client-side message checker plus educational guides about romance scams and online dating safety, and optional paid features (Deep Scan, a downloadable Safety Report, and the Dating Safety Guardian annual plan) processed through Stripe, our third-party payment provider.

No warranty on accuracy or outcomes

The free checker and paid features analyze text against known scam-indicator patterns and report a risk assessment. They do not verify anyone's identity, do not guarantee detection of every scam, and can produce false positives or false negatives. Results are provided "as is," for informational and educational purposes only, and are not a certification that any person is or is not attempting to defraud you.

Not legal advice, not law enforcement

Nothing on this Site constitutes legal advice, a criminal accusation against any named or unnamed individual, or a substitute for contacting law enforcement or a fraud-reporting authority (such as the CAFC, FTC, Action Fraud, or Scamwatch). See our guides for country-specific reporting links.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Site to harass, defame, or falsely accuse a specific named individual; to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Site's systems; or to submit content that is unlawful, and you are responsible for any information you choose to enter into the free checker or Photo Check tool.

Paid features and billing

Paid upgrades are billed and processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms. Pricing, billing frequency, and cancellation for the Dating Safety Guardian plan are disclosed at the point of purchase. We do not store your full payment card details.

Intellectual property

The Site's text, design, and original guide content are owned by Dating Scam Detector (datingscamdetector.com) unless otherwise credited. You may link to or quote brief excerpts of our guides with attribution; wholesale reproduction requires permission — see Contact.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dating Scam Detector and its operator are not liable for any financial loss, damages, or harm arising from your reliance on the free checker, a paid report, or any guide content, or from a scam that the Site's tools did not detect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
