Dating Scam Detector (datingscamdetector.com) does not require an account and does not store the messages, screenshots, or descriptions you submit to the free checker — that analysis runs in your browser (client-side) and is not transmitted to our servers.
What we don't collect
We don't ask for your name, the name of the person you're checking, or the platform you met on. The free checker's results (risk level, indicators found) exist only in your browser session and are cleared when you close or refresh the page.
Cookies & Advertising (AdSense)
This site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info. For EU/EEA/UK/Canada visitors, Google may show non-personalized ads until consent is given.
Paid features (Deep Scan, Safety Report, Dating Safety Guardian)
Paid upgrades are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles payment details directly under its own security and privacy standards. Receipts and account status related to a paid purchase are handled via Stripe and, where applicable, an order confirmation email.
Analytics
We may use standard, anonymized analytics (e.g., GA4) to see aggregate traffic patterns — which guides are read, which features are used — to improve the site. This data does not identify who you are personally. You can block analytics with any standard ad-blocker.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Not Law Enforcement or Legal Advice
Dating Scam Detector is an educational, informational tool. It does not verify anyone's identity, does not constitute a criminal accusation against any individual, and is not a substitute for contacting law enforcement or a fraud authority (such as the CAFC, FTC, Action Fraud, or Scamwatch) if you believe you have been scammed.
